Language H Simple (r): an Action Language for Representing Concurrent Actions and Continuous Changes

نویسنده

چکیده

In this paper, a new higher-level action language called H Simple (R) is introduced. Language H Simple (R) is based on (locally) stratiied logic program Apt et al., 1988] and can treat concurrent actions and continuous changes. Also, it can handle implication rules (ramiication) under the implication restriction. This work is the extension of Language H Hayashi, 1996] which can handle only a discrete time line. At the end, it is shown that any action can be expressed as a uent by comparing them in the logic program level.

From Discrete Task Plans to Continuous Trajectories

We present a logic-based framework to provide robots with high-level reasoning, such as planning. This framework uses the action description language C+ to represent actions and changes, and the system CCALC to reason about them. In particular, we can represent action domains that involve concurrent actions and additive fluents; based on this description, we can compute shortest plans to a plan...

Representing Action Domains with Numeric-Valued Fluents

We present a general method to formalize action domains with numericvalued fluents whose values are incremented or decremented by executions of actions, and show how it can be applied to the action description language C+ and to the concurrent situation calculus. This method can handle nonserializable concurrent actions, as well as ramifications on numeric-valued fluents, which are described in...

(C+)++: An Action Language for Modelling Norms and Institutions

The language C+ of Giunchiglia, Lee, Lifschitz, McCain, and Turner (2004) is a formalism for specifying and reasoning about the effects of actions and the persistence (‘inertia’) of facts over time. An ‘action description’ in C+ is a set of C+ laws which define a labelled transition system of a certain kind. This document presents (C+), an extended form of C+ designed for representing norms of ...

Formalizing Commitments Using Action Languages

This paper presents an action language, calledL, for representing and reasoning about commitments in multi-agent domains. The language is an extension of the language L, with new features motivated by the problem of representing and reasoning about commitments. These features include time, delayed effects, ir/reversible effects, concurrent actions, and multi-agents, for specifying and reasoning...

English Language Teachers' Views on Self-initiated Professional Development

Keeping pace with the continuous changes and innovations in the field of English language teaching is considered to be a necessity for the quality of teachers' teaching. There are numerous approaches to teacher development, among which self-initiated development stands as one of the noticeable trends. Although teacher development is crucial for the quality of education, it appears that there ar...
